What Makes You Feel Free: Reflections on Personal Freedom

As most celebrate the Fourth of July, it’s a perfect time to reflect on freedom. Not just our national freedom, but personal freedom as well. For me, personal freedom is deeply tied to economic freedom. While money isn’t the most important thing in life, it has a significant impact on what and who is important to you. Without money, achieving the quality of life you desire becomes challenging.

Economic Freedom and Quality of Life

Economic freedom means having the resources to focus on what matters most to you. Whether it’s spending more time with family, pursuing hobbies, committing to spiritual practices, exercising, getting proper rest, traveling, or serving your community—having the financial means to do these things brings a sense of liberation. It allows you to live a lifestyle where you have both the time and money to invest in what truly matters.

Imagine a Life Without Financial Worries

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to not constantly worry about providing for yourself and your family? Some people pass away without ever experiencing true earthly freedom. Personal and economic freedom is essential to spending quality and quantity time “just being” as a human should. We need to shift from always doing to simply being.

Steps to Achieve Personal Freedom

  1. Identify Your Desired Lifestyle: Determine what true freedom looks like for you. Is it more time for family? Pursuing passions? Traveling the world?
  2. Make Sacrifices: Understand that you may need to sacrifice something temporarily or permanently to gain what you want.
  3. Build Cash-Flowing Assets: Find a vehicle to build a cash-flowing asset that can create generational wealth. Removing time and money constraints is key.

Examples of Income-Generating Activities

  • Investing in Real Estate: Rental properties can provide a steady income stream.
  • Starting an Online Business: E-commerce, digital products, or affiliate marketing.
  • Stock Market Investments: Dividends and capital gains can create passive income.
  • Freelancing or Consulting: Leveraging your skills for higher pay and flexibility.

The ultimate boss move is celebrating your own freedom day. You haven’t truly lived until you’ve felt the feeling of owning yourself. So, what steps will you take to achieve your personal freedom? Let’s embark on this journey together. Happy Fourth of July, and here’s to finding and embracing our own freedom!
