Why Disruption Always Follows Intention

Wait, wait, wait! Flag on the play! Let’s go ahead and put this out there: the moment you decide to move different, all hell seems to break loose. You say, “I’m gonna start being intentional about my time, my money, my health, my peace,” and then boom—distraction, drama, and discouragement pull up like they got a VIP pass to your front door. Sound familiar?

Yeah… that ain’t a coincidence. That’s a pattern.

Let’s break this down.

Whenever you start being intentional, you’re basically telling the universe, your environment, your habits—and honestly, even some people—“I’m not playing small anymore.” And let me tell you, intention is a threat. It disrupts comfort zones, breaks cycles, and starts shaking everything that was just fine with you staying stuck.

You decide to wake up earlier? You sleep through your alarm.
You say no to that toxic ex or bad habit? Here comes a text outta nowhere.
You choose to save money and stick to a budget? Unplanned expenses pop up like popcorn.
You commit to praying more or protecting your peace? Somebody tries you at work before lunch.

Disruption follows intention because change sends a signal—and everything connected to the old you starts panicking. Your flesh gets loud. Your environment gets tight. The enemy gets bold. It’s like spiritual turbulence. You’re leveling up, but the ride gets bumpy before the altitude smooths out.

But don’t let that scare you. Let it confirm you’re on the right track.

See, those disruptions aren’t there to destroy you—they’re there to test your discipline. Are you gonna fold the moment it’s no longer easy? Or are you going to keep pressing forward because you’ve decided that your next level requires a better version of you?

Intentional living is powerful. It’s uncomfortable, yes. It’s inconvenient, absolutely. But it’s also transformative. It’s the difference between living on autopilot and living on purpose.

So the next time you start setting those boundaries, changing those habits, building that business, protecting your energy, or choosing faith over fear—don’t get thrown off when the disruption hits. Expect it. Recognize it for what it is. And then keep going.

Because here’s the truth: If the enemy can’t stop your intention, he’ll try to distract it. If he can’t destroy your purpose, he’ll try to exhaust it. But if you can just hold your ground and keep showing up, you’ll outlast every storm sent to take you out.

Stay focused. Stay grounded. Stay intentional. The disruption won’t last—but the impact of your obedience will.

Have you felt this lately—like every time you try to do better, something tries to knock you down? You’re not alone. Let’s talk about it in the comments. We rise stronger together.
