You ever notice how some of the best transformations don’t happen alone? That’s because we were never meant to grow in isolation. And that’s exactly why I launched the “Iron Sharpens Iron” training—it’s not just another leadership session. It’s a movement. A mindset. A mirror and a mission.
Let’s get something straight: sharpening isn’t soft. It requires friction. Tension. Honesty. But oh, the results! When iron meets iron, both blades level up. And that’s the goal—for you, your team, and every space you touch.
👤 Start with Self: Own Your Growth
Before we start pointing fingers or blaming the system, it’s mirror time. What’s one strength you bring to the table? Name it. Own it. Now, what’s one area where your edge is dull? Be real. Because true leaders don’t avoid their dull spots—they sharpen them.
Leadership starts on the inside. Discipline, focus, consistency—those aren’t buzzwords. They’re sharpening tools. And if we want to grow, we have to stop waiting for someone else to “fix it” and pick up the file ourselves.
🤝 Teamwork That Sharpens, Not Slices
It’s not enough for you to grow if the folks around you stay stuck. Real iron-sharpening means we don’t just rise—we raise others. That means speaking up when it’s uncomfortable, giving credit where it’s due, and choosing collaboration over comparison. Beware of the comparison trap. You are one of a kind!
Office politics? Don’t play dirty—play wise. It’s strategy over emotion. Clarity over chaos. Choose to lead with integrity, even when it’s not popular. That’s the mark of a sharpened leader. Don’t be petty!
📚 Wisdom is the Ultimate Cheat Code
You know what’s underrated? Asking for help. Seeking wisdom. Finding someone who’s been where you’re trying to go and learning from their scars, not just their trophies. The reason asking for help is hard for some is because it takes humility. Humble yourself and ask! It will be a great decision in the long run.
Mentorship matters. Whether it’s formal or casual, grab hold of wisdom and don’t let go. And when you gain it, don’t gatekeep. Pay it forward. Make wisdom a legacy, not a secret. Some people are threatened by people surpassing them in success. That’s crazy thinking. Everyone’s definition and timing of success is different. Focus on you and just help others get what they want. In turn you will also get what you want too. Always want the best for others and yourself. Learn to celebrate others because the spotlight will move.
🛠️ Don’t Just Learn—Apply
Knowledge without action is like a sharp blade left in a drawer—useless. If you walked away from the workshop feeling inspired but didn’t move your feet, you missed it. Pick one thing—just one—and apply it this week. Maybe it’s setting a boundary, asking for feedback, writing your leadership brand statement, or mentoring a teammate. Small actions sharpen fast. I say pick any one thing that you have been struggling with to date and attack it with intention. You have the power to change your life by taking deliberate and consistent action.
🌱 Be Willing to Be a Student Again
The sharpest leaders? They’re still learning. Always. Don’t let your title make you unteachable. Don’t let experience turn into arrogance. Stay curious. Stay humble. Stay sharp. Stay open to growing yourself!
Iron sharpens iron. So, find your circle. Get honest. Take action. And make a commitment to lead well, live well, and level up. We don’t have time for dull edges—not when there’s impact to be made.
Your greatness isn’t just for you. It’s for every life you’ll touch. So sharpen up, and let’s get to work.
