This week? Oh baby, I’m exercising the power of NO like it’s a new workout plan. And guess what? I feel lighter already.
See, I’ve got things on my plate that only I can do. Those priorities that nobody else can handle for me. And the rest? Honey, that’s either getting delegated or getting a firm, unapologetic NO. And guess what, so what?
I had to remind myself—saying no is not selfish. It’s self-preservation. When I say no, I’m protecting my capacity to actually process what’s already on my mind, on my list, and in my heart. I’m guarding my energy like it’s the last bit of gas in the tank, because truth is, if I keep giving it all away to everybody else, I’ll be running on empty when it’s time to pour into what really matters.
Here’s the thing: most of the stuff you’re saying “yes” to out of guilt, obligation, or habit? Nine times outta ten, it’ll take care of itself or it can wait until you get to it. The world won’t fall apart because you didn’t jump at every call, text, meeting, or favor request.
So today I’m telling you—rest in your NO. Don’t second-guess it. Don’t explain it. Don’t dress it up to make it sound “softer.” Just let it stand. Because when you honor your boundaries, you make space for peace, clarity, and the things that actually move your life forward.
This week, I’m resting in my NO. You should too.
