Business as Usual Almost Took Me Out – Reboot!

2025 for me was a year of shutting systems down and rebooting everything.

As I look back over last year, every habit, every routine, every sense of systematic normalcy that used to support my success got interrupted and broken down. Every. Single. One. And although I ended the year with a win, I was still moving in a disrupted pattern.

So what am I really saying here?

What I was doing was not working. It wasn’t producing the results I wanted. I was operating in my own version of insanity—doing business as usual and praying it would magically work out. Somewhere along the way, the renewing of my mind slowed down in all areas, and all I had left was sheer work mode. Hustle. Grind. Push.

And whew… that almost took me out at the end of the year.

I coasted into December on fumes.

So yeah—2026 has to be different.

We’ve got to stop doing the things that are clearly not working and get intentionally bold about taking new steps. And here’s the key: we don’t need to know all the steps. We just need to know the next step.

Too many of us are overwhelmed because we’re trying to follow everybody’s success advice. One person says do this, another says do that, and before you know it, the next step feels impossible to take.

In 2026, we’re focusing on one thing at a time.
One next step.
And we are officially done trying to be everything to everyone.

Let’s get bolder in our moments.

2025 was a fail forward year for me. You either win or you learn—and baby, I learned a LOT about myself. I have no regrets. None. Because now I have clarity. Now I can do it now. Now I can be intentional now.

So here’s my advice as we get started this year:
Don’t have 10 New Year’s resolutions.
Have 1–3 strong intentions with real, doable action behind them.

I’m not against resolutions or SMART goals—don’t get it twisted. But for me, I’m trying something different. I’m setting actionable intentions around what actually motivates me.

2026 will be MY WAY.

For example, you want to lose weight? Cool. Instead of saying, “By 12/31/2026 I’ll be down 20 pounds,” maybe you say, “By 12/31/2026 I will have one less chin and a more defined waist.”

Why?
Because that emotionalizes it for me.
I can see that.
I can feel that.

I know what you are saying. How will you measure progress? Well, I will see it! That will be my sign. I will not let the scale stress me out. I will just enjoy making exercise a fun part of my life and that’s that. The one and only goal is to just keep doing something. Keep moving consistently. It will add up!

The weight loss will come as a byproduct if I stay excited about the results and just do the work.

In 2026, I’m emotionalizing expectations. Because if I can feel the outcome, I’ll do what it takes to get there. And let’s be honest—we only do what we feel like doing anyway. So why not change the method and keep the goal?

They say there’s nothing new under the sun—and they’re right. God created it all in the beginning of time. The “new thing” isn’t the idea… it’s what God will do in you with what He already placed inside of you.

So let’s get access to that.

I wish you a prosperous, intentional, joy-filled 2026. And don’t forget to share, like, and subscribe, Joy Junkies—because this year, we are NOT wasting joy.

We are getting JOY WASTED.
Drunk with joy. Overflowing. Unapologetic.

Let’s go.
