Today, I want to talk about why I’m intentional about not cursing. I’m not saying that I’ve never cursed before. I am just saying that you mature and do better! Just know that my mama didn’t raise no fool, haha! We all have our own ways of expressing ourselves, but for me, keeping my language clean is a conscious choice that aligns with my values and brand. So, let’s dive into the reasons behind this decision.
Content and Brand Alignment
First and foremost, your content has to match your brand. I believe that the words we choose reflect who we are and what we stand for. Words have POWER! My brand is all about positivity, professionalism, and adding value to others. Cursing just doesn’t fit into that picture. By choosing to communicate without expletives, I’m ensuring that my content consistently aligns with the message I want to share with the world.
Communicating with Clarity and Emphasis
I also feel that I have a better way to communicate. There are so many words out there that can convey strong emotions, ideas, and emphasis without resorting to cursing. By expanding my vocabulary and being intentional with my word choices, I can get my point across more effectively and respectfully. It’s all about finding the right words to express what you mean.
Losing Credibility and Respect
Another big reason I avoid cursing is that I’ve noticed something interesting: when people curse while talking to me, I tend to tune out. They lose credibility of character with me. I’m not judging anyone, but I’m being transparent about how I perceive people who constantly use explicit language, especially women and children. It’s hard for me to take someone seriously if their speech is littered with profanity. It detracts from their message and makes it harder for me to connect with them.
Respecting My Values
I’m not perfect, but I have a deep sense of respect for my God and my parents. They’ve instilled values in me that I strive to uphold every day. Representing them with respect means avoiding language that they would find offensive or disrespectful. It’s a way of honoring them and the principles they’ve taught me.
Attracting the Right Frequencies
I want to attract the same frequencies. The people I want to connect with are those who appreciate thoughtful, respectful communication. By avoiding cursing, I’m setting a standard for the kind of interactions I want to have. It’s about creating a space where meaningful, positive conversations can thrive.
Do Better
Here’s the bottom line: you can have a great point, but cursing negates it for me. There’s always a better way to express yourself without resorting to profanity. It’s about being mindful of your words and striving to communicate with clarity, respect, and integrity. We can all do better.
In conclusion, being intentional about not cursing is a choice that reflects my values, respects my loved ones, and aligns with the brand I’m building. It’s about showing up in the world in a way that’s true to who I am and the message I want to share. So, let’s all strive to communicate with kindness, respect, and purpose. Together, we can make a positive impact.
Until next time, keep it classy and stay true to yourself.
