Let’s get one thing straight: in this life, you’re gonna have to demand what you want. Closed mouths don’t get fed, and quiet hearts don’t get heard. If you keep letting folks walk all over you, guess what? They will. Every. Single. Time.
Respect Ain’t Optional
Everybody ain’t gonna like you—and that’s cool. You weren’t put here to be liked by everybody. But one thing they will do? Respect you. And if they don’t? You teach them how to treat you, or you show them the door. Period.
You don’t have to be loud. You don’t have to be rude. But you do have to be clear. Clear about your boundaries. Clear about your value. Clear about what you will and will not tolerate.
You Set the Standard
People will treat you how you allow them to. If you keep letting folks slide, they’ll start skating. If you keep shrinking to make others comfortable, you’ll forget how to stand tall. And baby, you were built to stand tall.
So stop second-guessing yourself. Stop playing small. Stop letting people drain your energy and then act like you’re the problem when you finally speak up.
Protect Your Peace, Protect Your Tribe
Life is too short to keep entertaining folks who don’t clap when you win, who don’t respect your space, or who only come around when they need something. That’s not your tribe—that’s dead weight.
Your tribe should uplift you, challenge you, and respect you even when they don’t agree with you. If they can’t do that? Let them go. You’re not losing people—you’re making room for better.
Bottom line?
Don’t be a pushover. Stand 10 toes down. Speak up. Set boundaries. Demand respect. And if they can’t handle that? They were never meant to be in your space anyway.
You’re not asking for too much—you’re just asking the wrong people.
