What the Struggle Means: Look at Me… Still Breathing

Let’s keep it real—nobody likes the struggle. It’s heavy, it’s messy, and it will have you questioning everything from your decisions to your destiny. But here’s the truth: struggle always has a meaning, and if you pay attention, it’ll teach you more than success ever could.

Climbing that mountain is never easy. Your legs burn, your lungs fight for air, and sometimes you wanna sit down and say, “Forget this, I’m good right here at the bottom.” But the bottom don’t have the view. The peak does. And the climb—the struggle—that’s what prepares you to handle the breathtaking view when you finally get there.

Here’s where I’m at:

  • I’m growing every time I push through something that felt like it was gonna take me out.
  • I’m building resilience with every setback that I bounce back from.
  • I’m leaning on my faith when my strength runs out, and I’m reminded that God’s power works best in my weakness.
  • I’m believing that the mountain isn’t bigger than my purpose—and I’m climbing with hope.

And let me tell you something real: I’m conditioning my lungs right now to breathe at higher heights. I have to be ready, because I swear I bounced back from near suffocation and loss of air countless times. The enemy tried to choke me out, life tried to take my breath, but I’m still here—breathing deeper, stronger, more intentional. My lungs have to be strong enough now to reach the summit. Look at me—deep breathing. That’s not weakness, that’s training for where I’m headed.

Here’s the hope part: struggle doesn’t last forever. Seasons change. Pain shifts. What feels unbearable today often becomes tomorrow’s testimony. The very thing that almost broke me will end up building me stronger, wiser, and more focused.

But belief—whew, that’s the key. If I don’t believe there’s something worth climbing for, I’ll stop halfway up. So I’m choosing to believe. I’m choosing to keep moving. I’m choosing to trust that the view is worth the climb.

So what does the struggle mean?
It means I’m growing.
It means I’m being prepared.
It means I’m on the path to something greater than what I can see right now.

The mountain is tough. The climb is rough. But baby, when I get to the top? That view is breathtaking—literally. And it’ll make every stumble, every tear, and every doubt worth it.

I’m climbing. I’m breathing. I’m believing. I’m not stopping. And I’m closer than I think.

Amen!! That’s just what I needed to strengthen my faith. Thank you so much for those words of encouragement and the metaphor used to drive it home.
