Check Yourself Before You Wreck Yourself: A Wake-Up Call for Times Like These

Let’s be real. The world is wild right now. Government shutdowns, economic uncertainty, chaos in the streets, and confusion in the headlines. It’s enough to make anyone feel like spiraling. But I’m here to tell you—don’t do it. Don’t spiral. Don’t sink. Don’t wreck yourself.

Yes, the shutdown is real. And yes, it’s going to impact everything—businesses, food, transportation, even the holidays. But here’s the truth: YOU still got YOU. And that’s more powerful than any policy or panic.

We are in this together. We see what it looks like, but don’t let what you see define what you believe. Faith goes beyond sight. Faith sustains. Faith transforms. So stop being your own worst enemy. Amen, self! Stick to God’s plan for your life. You were never meant to live in lack. You were created for abundance.

Transformation Takes Time—But It Also Takes Consistency

This isn’t the time to give up. It’s the time to level up. You can become the person who’s ready to receive the promises of God. But you’ve got to be consistent. You’ve got to be bold. You’ve got to move—even when the world is trying to shove adversity down your throat.

As I type this, I’m encouraging myself too. I’m reminding myself to keep making bold moves. To not back down. To not let disorder outside create disorder inside.

So What Do You Do?

Here’s your action plan:

  • Pray. First and always.
  • Invest in yourself. Read, grow, stretch, evolve.
  • Strengthen your relationships. Love on your people. Build your tribe.
  • Make monetary moves. Start that side hustle. Sell what you don’t need. Your trash is someone else’s treasure.
  • Declutter your space. Clear your home, clear your mind.
  • Don’t be ashamed of hardship. Be thankful. Be resourceful.

Remember the woman in the Bible who had debt but also had oil? She borrowed jars and turned her little into overflow. You can do the same. You’ve got something in your house, in your hands, in your heart that can multiply. You just need to move.

We see stories like this online every day—people turning pain into purpose, struggle into strategy. Find your lane. Get in it. Stay in it. And drive like you know where you’re going.

You’re not alone. You’re not without options. You’re not without power.

So check yourself. Encourage yourself. And remind yourself: You were built for this.

Let’s go!
