Have you ever felt God telling you to do something that made absolutely no sense? Something so big, so unusual, or so outside the norm that you worried about how people would look at you? Well, welcome to the club.

The phrase “obedience is better than sacrifice” comes from 1 Samuel 15:22. It reminds us that God is not as impressed with our grand gestures as He is with our willingness to simply do what He says. Sometimes we think we can substitute activity for obedience. We stay busy, serve, volunteer, give, and work hard, all while avoiding the very thing God asked us to do.

But God is looking for surrendered hearts.

The truth is, obedience often comes with a season where you look crazy to other people. God may give you a vision that nobody else can see. He may tell you to start a business when your bank account says otherwise. He may tell you to leave a comfortable situation, launch a ministry, write a book, go back to school, or pursue a dream that appears completely out of reach.

And that’s where faith comes in.

Folks, hold on.

Do what God showed you to do, no matter how crazy you look.

People usually celebrate the success but rarely understand the obedience that came before it. They don’t see the nights you cried, the doors that closed, the prayers you prayed, or the fears you had to overcome. They only see the finished product. What they don’t realize is that every blessing started with a simple act of obedience.

That’s why I appreciate Tabitha Brown’s journey and the reminders she shares. Her story is a testimony that God’s vision can seem way out there. Sometimes it can feel so distant that you wonder if you misunderstood Him. Yet her example encourages us to keep trusting, keep moving, and keep believing, even when the destination isn’t visible yet.

Because here’s the thing: if God gave you the vision, He also knows the path.

Your assignment is not to understand every detail.

Your assignment is to obey.

Noah looked crazy building an ark before the rain came. Abraham looked crazy leaving everything familiar without knowing exactly where he was going. Moses looked crazy confronting Pharaoh. Yet their obedience positioned them for God’s purpose.

What if the breakthrough you’re praying for is on the other side of your next act of obedience?

What if God is waiting for you to take the step He already told you to take?

Sometimes we delay our own progress because we’re waiting for more confirmation when God is waiting for our cooperation.

So if you’re in a season where the vision feels far away, don’t quit.

If you’re in a season where people don’t understand what you’re building, don’t stop.

If you’re in a season where the dream seems bigger than your resources, keep trusting.

God specializes in doing extraordinary things through ordinary people who are willing to obey.

Remember, obedience is not about having all the answers. It’s about trusting the One who does.

So hold on, fam!

Keep working.

Keep praying.

Keep believing.

Keep taking the next step.

The vision may seem far out today, but one day you’ll look back and realize that every act of obedience was leading you exactly where God intended you to be.

And when that day comes, it won’t be because you had everything figured out.

It will be because you trusted God enough to obey. ❤️
